Patrick Gilhuley, Operations Coordinator

Patrick Gulhuley was a member of the NYC Police Department from January 8, 1983 to his retirement on February 22, 2003. Like all police officers Patrick started in the trenches as a patrol officer in Brooklyn and Staten Island. Recognized for his common sense and ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds that make up the boroughs of the City of New York, Patrick was assigned by his commanding officer to community affairs. Working as a community affairs specialist requires a high level of awareness, tremendous insight, a thorough understanding of the community in which you serve and sensitivity to its needs. This must all be accomplished while still enforcing the law and accomplishing the Departments goals and objectives for the entire community. Developing and maintaining the trust of the community on one end and the Department on the other is a balancing act that only few can master. Patrick excelled by all standards with honesty, integrity and compassion. Upon retirement Patrick worked in the private sector for the NY Stock Exchange, one of the highest rated targets for terrorism in the world. Once again Patrick’s ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with superiors, co-workers and executives at the exchange led to a trusted position reporting directly to the director of security for the exchange. Our approach to creating and designing security programs tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients led to Patrick’s assignment as Operations Coordinator for our firm. This again charges him with responsibility to handle day to day operations at various locations, each with its own unique needs and requirements. In so doing Patrick deals directly and forthrightly with issues relating to our personnel and clients to ensure a timely and accurate response from all concerned.
