Mr. Stein entered the NYC Police Department on June 16, 1984, following a career as a professional baseball player in the Minnesota Twins organization, and retired on May 31, 2003. After working in various patrol duties in Midtown Manhattan Ray’s presence and leadership qualities, unique ability to multi-task and remain calm in potentially explosive situations were quickly recognized resulting in an assignment to the Special Operations Division, a city wide unit responsible for handling some of the most challenging, high profile events the Department is known for. Literally operating on a world stage Ray has led, coordinated and implemented strategies for his unit from Papal visits to riots and civil unrest, major sporting events such as the World Series and numerous visits by Presidents, foreign dignitaries and celebrities. During this time Ray acted as a liaison for the NYPD to similar units in other departments throughout North America and Europe. In addition to Ray’s extensive experience in the NYPD and private industry Ray provides personal security services to John Madden, Howie Long, Terry Bradshaw and many other high profile celebrities in the world of sports. A recognized leader in our industry, all personnel decisions regarding assignments for Protection Advisory from building security, personal security services and special events such as the Super Bowl, Fox Sports and NBC must be approved by Ray.
